SRHS Update: Week of May 14

Dear Parents, Students, and Friends of Sanborn Regional High School. May and June are jam-packed with lots of events as we start to close out the 2011-2012 school year. Here are your important announcements for the week:
1. Did you know we now have our very own PTO? Please consider joining. The membership form is attached. Speaking of the PTO....

OUR new PTO will be holding its first major fundraiser on the evening of Friday May 18. It will be a comedy show at Sawyers. Tickets will be on sale after vacation for $20 each. Your ticket includes free appetizers, access to lots of raffle prize options, and a cash bar. Two Vegas comedians will perform. This will be a GREAT night out. Save the date!

Meanwhile, to make this event a success, the PTO needs donations of items or gift certificates for the raffles. Please see the attached letter for information on how YOU can help support the PTO in collecting these items. I hope you will consider coming out for a great night of laughs on May 18 too! The attached flyer tells you how you can order tickets for this great event.

JOIN THEM FOR THEIR NEXT PTO MEETING WEDNESDAY MAY 16 AT 6PM IN THE LIBRARY.

3. I have attached an important letter regarding graduation expectations that was mailed home to all parents of graduating seniors on May 10.

4. Join us tonight at 5:30pm in the cafeteria for the music awards night.

5. It is never too early to think about summer school. This year SRHS will be holding our own program for the first time ever. This will be the "preferred" option for students who need to recover credits or competencies from courses from this past school year. Please review the attached handout for more information.

6. SRHS is also proud to announce that it will hold a summer drama enrichment program. I have attached a brochure with more details on this exciting opportunity.

7. The Sanborn Regional High School Golf Team is hosting a golf tournament on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the Apple Hill Golf Course at 69 East Road in East Kingston, NH 03827. The cost is $90.00 per Golfer which includes 18 Holes of Golf with cart, Italian Feast, gift bag with various local coupons and surprises, prizes for 1st and 2nd place teams, prizes for longest accurate drive, prizes for closest to the pin, and "on the green” 50/50. 8. Finally, we have a message from the post-prom committee:

Thank You ALL!

The After Prom Party Planning Committee of 2012 would like to take a moment to thank you for your generous support of the After-Prom Party.  With your overwhelming donations of baked goods / breakfast items we were able to have plenty of food, sodas, water, Ice Cream Sundae Bar, and a huge variety of dessert items that the kids had plenty to choose from.  I believe I can safely say I do not believe that any student went home hungry or thirsty.  The leftover food/drinks will be donated to different upcoming Sanborn school events & community area organizations.

Thank you to all the families, community members, Sanborn's school administrators, administration support, Junior Year Advisors, custodial/facilities team, the Kingston Police and Fire Departments,  you were all amazing with your help and endless support in planning the After-Prom Party to helping set-up, chaperone, clean up.

Although there are so many people to thank that I cannot begin to list everyone in an email, but I would like to personally indulge and call out just one:  Sanborn's wonderful Principal, Mr. Brian Stack; your dedication, your endless patience with all my requests, questions, concerns were invaluable to me, I could not have done all of this without your constant support, Thank you so very much!

This will be my last email on After-Prom;  well... until September when we begin to plan for After-Prom Party 2013!  And Yes, I'm already planning it ~ believe me, it will be here faster than we can blink!  It takes a lot of time, hard work and dedication to plan, fund-raise and run the After-Prom Parties, but so worth it because our only goal is to keep our students safe on Prom Night.

With heartfelt gratitude, Theresa
