4. Here is a message from the folks organizing Newton's Turkey Trot next week:

Hello All,

Sometimes in life, one goes thru a reflection period in hopes of making a better world and contributing to those in needs. The result – Newton Turkey Trot. This event brings together people throughout the area and helps those in dire need for the upcoming winter and holidays. Whether you want to run, walk, assist with the administration of the event, or make a small donation, your contributions are immeasurable and provides hope and a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel for those who have struggled or face challenges in current times.

Proceeds (including donated laptops) from last year’s race were distributed to a family who lost their beloved mother, sister, daughter, and friend to an unexpected brain aneurysm on Thanksgiving night. A beautiful, inspiring, young lady with children as young as the second grade spent her final moments with her children and husband that night. This is just one of the heartfelt stories that an individual will either hear from others or be specifically acquainted with.

Going on its third year, the Newton Turkey Trot is gaining attraction and 35 pre-registered runners have signed up two weeks prior to the event. A family has been selected for 2011 and will remain anonymous per request. The proceeds raised by the event will be donated to assist this family in the current and future challenges that lay ahead.

The attachment above includes the details of the event, which is held on November 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM or you can visit the website on facebook.com (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Annual-Newton-NH-5K-Turkey-Trot/163935990296410). The race will end at the Hen House Sports Bar Restaurant, Newton, NH 03852 and the first 50 participants will receive a T-shirt. Families and children are encouraged to participate or cheer on the participants. Lets make a brighter world and put a smile on someone’s face that has been existent for some time.

Have a great week everyone!
