We have finally arrived at our first official week of school! Here are your important announcements for the week:
We have finally arrived at our first official week of school! Here are your important announcements for the week:
1. Within the last two weeks, you should have received your child's official "back to school packet" from the school with forms that must be completed for the first day. I have attached this information to this email. Freshman will receive their schedules on their first day of school and we have reserved PLENTY of time to work with them to make sure they have any schedule adjustments made that they need so they can have a successful school year.
2. IMPORTANT: All students MUST bring a completed emergency form, signed by a parent or guardian, with them on the first day of school. Students who are participating in athletics must have this form submitted before summer practices start. We are also asking all students who are applying for a parking permit to submit this form with their parking application.
3. I have attached the Guidance Department September calendar. You can also view it by clicking this link: http://www.sau17.org/images/stories/highschool/Lori/guid_cal_sept_12.pdf
4. I have also attached the September lunch menus from Cafe Services.
5. School starts Tuesday August 28 for freshman and Wednesday August 29 for all other grades. Students attending SST should plan to come to school beginning on August 27 to catch the bus to SST. Report times for that are 8:50 for the mid-session program and 11:50 for the PM session on the 27th and 28th.
6. This week, we are mailing out user names and passwords to each of you so you can access the Pinnacle Internet Viewer (PIV). The PIV is where you can access your child's grades and attendance information, as well as print report cards. I have attached an important handout that explains how our grades are calculated at Sanborn. This handout is also available by clicking this link: http://web.sau17.org/images/stories/highschool/Lori/srhs_grading_guidelines_parent_overview.pdf
7. Are you looking for a unique enrichment opportunity for your child? Consider the "Splash" program at MIT, the weekend of November 17-18. Here is the link: http://esp.mit.edu/learn/Splash/index.html
Have a great week!
