SRHS Update: Week of January 2

Good morning parents, students, and friends of Sanborn Regional High School. Happy New Year! I hope you all had a restful holiday season. Here are your important announcements for the week:

1. The Guidance calendar of important dates and reminders for January is attached to this email.

2. Please visit my blog at to view past "weekly emails" as well as other special articles. This past week, I uploaded an article explaining how our school responds to student discipline issues.

3. Don't forget that you can always view our daily announcements (the ones that are read over our PA system to students) online. They can be found on our homepage at

4. The first semester ends on January 13th. I have attached a final/midterm summative assessment bell schedule for Jan 12 & 13 as well as a letter explaining how final course grades are calculated.

5. Wednesday January 4 at 6pm in the library, join me for my next monthly PAC meeting. Our focus will be the culture survey data analysis. I expect this work will take the next two meetings to complete, but we would love your input in the process as we work to identify how we can improve our school climate and culture.

6. Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 6:30 pm, in the high school library, the Guidance Department will host a Financial Aid Night for seniors and their parents. A representative from the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHEAF) will be here to walk you through the financial aid process and to answer questions. Please try to attend. This information is very helpful in assisting you with the financial aid process and filling out the FAFSA, whether you plan to attend a 2 year school, a 4 year school, or a vocational school. Please contact Guidance if have any questions.

7. SAVE THE DATE: Our Winter Open House & Exhibition Night will be held on January 23rd from 4:30-8:00pm. I have attached a flyer with more details and activities.

8. The senior class will host a winter semi-formal on Friday, January 27th, at the Granite Rose in Hampstead. More information to follow soon.

Have a great week everyone!
