SRHS 3 Pillar Plan: A Vision for Success at SRHS

Image
The 2012-2013 year marks my twelfth year in public education, with seven of those years spent in administration at Sanborn Regional High School. Every September I have a tradition of starting the new school year by reflecting on the previous one and trying to determine what I can do differently to improve. Last year is going to be a tough one to beat as our school was recognized at local, state, and national levels for our redesign efforts. At the end of the school year as I talked with various students, teachers, parents, and community members, it become apparent to me that people seemed to have a very different definition of what our school needed to focus on in order to achieve our vision of being one of NH’s “best” schools. Good Morning Parents, Students, Staff, and Friends of Sanborn Regional High School: I am happy to report that the best word to describe our first week would be "uneventful." In my seven years at Sanborn, I'm not sure I would have ever been able to use that word. We had some glitches, as you would expect, but for the most part it was a quiet and smooth transition from summer to fall. Thank you to all of you for your help in making that possible. Here are your important announcements for the week: 1. Please consider joining us for our first PTO meeting of the year - Wednesday September 19 at 6pm in the library. The PTO needs your parent voice! (PAC meetings likely will start in October). 2. I have attached the Guidance Department September calendar. You can also view it by clicking this link: http://www.sau17.org/images/stories/highschool/Lori/guid_cal_sept_12.pdf 3. Today is school picture day for grades 10-12. We will have a separate picture day for fres...

Freshman will receive their schedules on their first day of school and we have reserved PLENTY of time to work with them to make sure they have any schedule adjustments made that they need so they can have a successful school year. 2. IMPORTANT: All students MUST bring a completed emergency form, signed by a parent or guardian, with them on the first day of school. Students who are participating in athletics must have this form submitted before summer practices start. We are also asking all students who are applying for a parking permit to submi...
